Proofreaders Needed. No Experience Necessary. August 28, 2007

Filed under: Interactive, Rich Media, advergame — Agency Tart @ 12:44 pm

Stopped at the store last night after dinner for something to get the disgusting taste of shrimp fried rice out of my mouth and decided to try the new 5 gum by Wrigley’s. Gum’s nothing special but the packaging looks like a some clove cigarettes I used to smoke in college. Checked out the website (by Fuel Industries) this morning and although it’s got all kinds of fancy schmancy video and advergaming, maybe they should have hired a proofreader, too. Last time I checked, “cobalt” doesn’t have 2 ells in it. Just sayin’.

    Thank you!

I am interested in this proofreading position. I have proofread books, magazines, and websites. I’ve always done it for free, but I’d like to do it for pay. I’m very good at it. One time I even caught errors on a proofreading/editing site and emailed the owner about them! (He was a little embarrassed.)

“Colbalt” is a fairly egregious mistake on its own, but “The Warming of Flare?” I know it’s the name of a flavor, but Christ, that has to be one of the most nonsensical sentence constructions I’ve ever seen. I guess when you can’t spell “Cobalt,” proper grammar is a bit much to ask. Funny stuff, though.
